| Requests for funding are reviewed to determine how they meet the following criteria: |
The project should advance the goal of an integrated land ownership information system.
The project should leverage existing Alaska Cadastral data, information, or technology resources to develop new uses or applications. Projects that
amplify the benefit of existing cadastral and land records data, information, or technology resources by expanding the scope of how they are applied are preferred.
Applicant's in-kind or financial investment in the project: The
contribution from partners and applicants is an indication of commitment,
and will affect decisions on which projects are selected.
The overall goal of the Alaska Cadastral Project is to build a shared approach for the management of land ownership and cadastral survey information. The grant applications can be accepted from local governments, state agencies, and Native organizations. New partnerships, new infrastructure, improved business processes are all expected outcomes for the project participants. The focus is on new applications, new procedures, and improved public access. Data centric proposals are discouraged.
